Drone Air Services was formed by incorporating UAV Images (Founded in 2012) and its clients and platforms and technology under the D.A.S banner.
UAV Images specializes in the reporting structure of data, captured by the drones through its software and platforms. UAV Images was founded in 2012 by Derek Crookes and Clive Eksteen, when it became apparent that Satellites had many draw backs. This was very apparent especially relating to taking photographs of agricultural crops soon after germination and when there was cloud cover over the site which was to be photographed. Since starting the company there have been many other requirements for the use of UAV’s (Drones) – the company has become very familiar with many of the requirements due to the continuing demand for drones.
UAV Images together with Angus Rowe, formed Drone Air Services (DAS). Angus has a passion for flying and has spent many hours flying Manned Aircraft. Along with his knowledge in the health sector and Chairman of the LifeSense Group of Companies which offers professional integrated specialist solutions to the health and wellness industry, Angus could not resist the temptation to join the growing industry of drones. Angus is also a qualified FAGASA (The Field Guides Association of Southern Africa) member.
Anti-Poaching – Drone Air Services is proud to be involved and participates in Anti-Poaching projects utilizing drones, donating a percentage of its earnings for a good cause.
DAS specializes in offering its customers solutions to their aerial requirements as well as assisting pilots the opportunity to utilize its drones to those who cannot afford to purchase their own, while also training new pilots in the industry.
Derek Crookes
Derek Crookes has over 30 years of experience of flying radio controlled aircraft and is a qualified Drone Pilot. He also has an interest in agriculture, having lived on a farm for over 27 years and combining his flying experience started out in the drone industry with precision agriculture. Derek was also a founder of Ideal CFDs in 2005, a brokerage who offered CFDs as a derivative, to clients who wanted to trade the derivative market when CFDs was in its infancy and virtually unheard of. Ideal CFDs was eventually bought out by IG Markets in 2010
Angus Rowe
Angus Rowe is Chairman of the LifeSense Group of Companies and Studied at Harvard University.
Angus enjoyed many years as a manned pilot and has an extensive knowledge of aviation and the health industry.
Clive Eksteen
Clive Eksteen has over 30 years of marketing experience and was involved in the agricultural industry for over 5 years developing products for the farming community to integrate their crops and livestock into a formalised Data base to help improve their financial returns. Clive represeneted South Africa in Cricket in the 90's. Clive is also invloved with Biznews.com along side Alec Hogg in marketing.
